IdeaPaint and Evernote for Schools Giveaway

Here at IdeaPaint, we’ve been introduced to a lot of cool and inspiring companies. Ditto for schools and teachers. We teamed up with one of our favorites, Evernote, to come up with this awesome classroom technology giveaway.

If you follow along with us, you probably recognize Evernote – whose mission is to help you remember everything. (Our chemistry with them is well documented.) You may also remember Mike Curta and his students at Eisenhower High School in Chicago. We went to visit them earlier this spring, when we took in, first hand, how Mike has transformed their classroom into a well oiled high-tech, low-tech machine using IdeaPaint and Evernote.

In the video above you’ll see how achieving Mike’s goal of creating life long learners happened naturally when the right tools are available. The days we visited, his students were completing a team essay. They hustled from table to wall to table again, adding and editing their peers’ work until a final piece was completed. We’d seen nothing like it. With IdeaPaint on nearly every surface in the classroom, learning has taken a team-oriented, entire body approach. Using the Evernote software on their smart devices to archive their work, Mike’s students keep track of all versions of their writing, their accompanying graphics, questions, even half-thoughts. Nothing gets lost; everything gets organized. It may look a little chaotic, but it works like magic.

Mike recently reported that other classrooms in the school and in their district will be implementing similar set-ups, and we couldn’t be more excited.
