IdeaPaint Gets Reebok Designers Working Together

.

Here is another fantastic IdeaPaint success story - this time from one of the world's preeminent footwear and apparel companies, Reebok.

Reebok is an American-inspired, global brand that creates and markets sports and lifestyle products built upon a strong heritage and authenticity in sports, fitness and women’s categories. The brand is committed to designing products and marketing programs that reflect creativity and the desire to constantly challenge the status quo.

In the Design Department of Reebok's World Headquarters in Canton, MA, IdeaPaint is used throughout the office on spaces big and small to foster innovation and conversation. See photos

"It's used in so many different ways," says Michael Schaeffer, Reebok's Global Creative Director. "We've seen people behaving differently because of IdeaPaint. They are interacting differently, and working together differently. More spontaneous conversations pop-up, and more spontaneous idea-collecting is happening than before."

Reebok Designer Using IdeaPaintReebok's use of IdeaPaint is not limited to traditional surfaces like conference room walls and columns. Product designers use a mannequin painted with IdeaPaint to sketch out new concepts. "It's better than trying to replicate that experience on paper," says Schaeffer. "You get to see what a line actually looks like when it moves around the body. And since it is erasable, it's a lot easier to take a risk and try something, because it's no big deal. If you don't like it, you just swipe it off and start over."

Reebok's Big Curved IdeaPaint WallThe "Big Curved Wall" anchors the office, and provides a massive work and play space that evolves over time. When we visited Reebok in December, the wall was covered in unbelievable life-size Christmas cartoons. "We even have smaller surfaces like columns painted throughout the office," says Schaeffer, "and these are spaces that are used for work, but also used for people to off-load ideas, and create spaces for the things people want to talk about."
